Virtual 30 percent off promo Extended
To help push the message that ShadowProtect is just as good at protecting virtual hosts as physical ones, StorageCraft have been running promo pricing on their Virtual Server products – 30 percent off all new licenses – that was originally scheduled to end on 31 August 2015. It has now been announced that this promo will continue through 30 September.
Why ShadowProtect SPX?
As more of you become aware that StorageCraft have released a new version of ShadowProtect, SPX, so we are getting the question of why you should migrate to SPX – given that you can still buy licenses for version 5, should you stay with that version? Put simply SPX adds additional value with a refined GUI overlay, a new mixed mode full backup, a powerful view of backup job history, deep API functionality and a brand new underlying engine. Additionally the new SPX version has deeper integration with StorageCraft ShadowControl, a Linux virtual machine for deployment and management of ShadowProtect agents locally. Future development efforts will be committed to ShadowProtect SPX, not version 5.
End of Support for ShadowProtect v4.x and all prior versions
If anyone is still running a version older than 5, please be aware that StorageCraft have announced that ShadowProtect 4 and earlier versions are officially discontinued, and will be unsupported from July 2016.
New 10-CAL license for Watchdog
Watchdog is the solution for managing multiple servers and even multiple customers, and testing ShadowProtect backups. This has been available in license sizes of 25 or 100, and a new 10-CAL edition has now also been introduced. The 10-CAL has an RRP of $440 plus GST per year, pricing on the other two license sizes is unchanged at RRP $660 plus GST per year for the 25-CAL and RRP $1320 plus GST per year for the 100-CAL.
